So, I see the Sci Fi Channel in the US has finally picked up the rights to show season 1 of the new Dr. Who from March - funny, I'm sure it wasn't that long ago that the channel declared it was too way out to be shown on the channel which loves movies about giant bugs. Odd, that.

Amusing isn't it? I wonder what's going to be cut when they show it over here?

Well, it'll be interesting to see if the onscreen m/m kiss gets cut... ;)

Just thank your lucky stars that SciFi Channel won't get involved in making the show. Because that's when they start to ruin things most of the time. I swear, that channel is schizo--it shows some of the dumbest crap ever created, and then we get stuff like Battlestar Gallactica and now Doctor Who.

Of course, I've had some of my Doctor Who DVDs for over six months. And already seen The Christmas Invasion. So SciFi is a little late to the game.

Not that I won't be watching, just like with Hustle on AMC this weekend....

It was just the choking amount of irony, when they turned it down last time around, apparently because it was too wacky, but were happy to produce and show Mansquito! and its ilk...

Or possibly it was just that not showing Dr Who means that people can inaccurately keep banging on about SG-1 being the longest-running sci fi series ever... *cough*28 seasons so far*cough* ;)

Maybe the BBC finally showed them certain scenes that proved the show was just right for the Sci Fi Channel? ;)

Well, we do have killer Christmas trees and flying pigs (literally!), so perhaps you're right!

Of course, I wouldn't want to lay bets on the m/m kiss making it past the censors... ;)

Methinks I'm going to put up a poll in my LJ, and we can lay our bets that way and see what plays out.
