When I had supervision last week, my supervisor casually mentioned that he's currently writing my probationary report - I'd forgotten all about that, which is dumb considering that it's almost 6 months since I started. Hopefully there'll be no problems with it, since I got a Christmas card today from one of the senior managers (more senior than my supervisor) with 'thanks for all your hard work so far' on it. ;)

Four more days at work and then ten days off. It's not looking like I'm going to be extra-busy this week, which is good, though any trips into the city are going to be a nightmare because of all the traffic. It looks like everyone has suddenly realised Christmas is coming!

At least the bulk of my groceries for the holiday period came yesterday, though I'm always surprised by the substitutions when what I order isn't in stock. I ordered a bag of yellow split peas (I have this recipe for the most antisocial chana dhal ever, which just renders me incompatible with polite company the following day) and they replaced it with a tin of petit pois. Which would have been more understandable if there hadn't been a bag of frozen petit pois in the same order. So, I just need to buy cake etc. before the week's out and then I'm pretty much set. I also need ice cream, since they substituted my Dublin Mudslide with Phish Food and that stuff is so sweet it sets my teeth on edge.

Anyway, I think it'll be an early night for me tonight - it's that time of the month and I feel like I've been hung out to dry. Didn't get much of anything done over the weekend either, apart from a copious amount of laundry, which is no surprise either... Remus escaped his promised bath since it was so cold yesterday I was worried about putting him back in the hutch afterwards and him catching a chill. He doesn't pong so much today, I'm very glad to announce!

::sighs::

Sometimes I think packers lack brains. I have had, at least twice, an order for vegetarian sausages substituted with meat ones or some something similar. Seriously! What were they thinking????

Good luck with the probation report!

You know, thinking about it, I've had that as well! I wonder if they have a button to press that gives alternatives if something isn't in stock and it's that which makes idiotic substitutions happen?

I know what Phish Food is and yeah, not my favorite ice cream, but does Ben & Jerrys make something called Dublin Mudslide? What's in it?

They certainly do (http://www.benjerry.co.uk/dublinmudslide/) - it's Irish liqueur ice cream, with chocolate chip cookies and coffee sauce. Mmmm.

Mmmm!

I went to the very first Ben & Jerry's. They used to ask for suggestions for flavors, and every month or so, they'd make one of the suggestions. I never thought of that one, but I wish I had!

It's very nice. I'm one of those people who tends to either love or hate their flavours, so it was good to find another one that I liked after the demise of my former favourite Chubby Hubby.

Oh, now I *must* find and try it. Chubby Hubby was my favorite flavor too.

The flavor I liked that they never made in bulk was pumpkin pie ice cream. It was pumpkin flavored, with little marshmallows and bits of crunchy cinnamon. Mmmm.
