Finally got around to having my hair cut this afternoon, since I'd been waking up with Harry-hair (that's Harry Potter from this webcomic, btw) for the best part of the last month and it was getting on my nerves. Another side effect of the Damned Commute, that I have to try and get in on a Saturday, since I'm delaying changing hairdressers as long as physically possible, and I don't get back till after they close most nights.

So, I'm all pointy-haired again and now need to buy myself a hat if the weather stays cold... ;)

Meanwhile, in other news, one of the kids is extremely smelly so he might be getting an unexpected bath this weekend. I try not to bath them too often, because it's counter-productive, but it's that or change his name from Remus to Pong. I'll try and get some before and during photos, if I can find some batteries for the digital camera, so you can see the Remus Death Glare in action.

I think I know what the problem is - poor Dougal was similarly afflicted a couple of years ago and had to make a trip to the vets to have his anal glands squeezed. It's an extremely entertaining procedure, since I've never seen a vet move quite that fast before, crossing the 8-foot gap to fling the nearest window open in one leap, and at least I felt like I got my money's worth in terms of entertainment!

Anyway, if it turns out to be the same, Remus will not be quite so sanguine about the whole matter, since he doesn't share Dougal's nature. I envisage it as being like one of those movies where someone is cutting a bullet out and they give the patient a stick to chew on. Substitute my hand for the stick and I think you can see where this is going... ;)

And back to fandom, I've just posted a timed-out Jack/Daniel story, Chimaera (not to be confused with the semi-tedious episode of the same name) to AllDanielFic - exclusive there at the moment, since I haven't got around to coding it for my own website yet or posting it anywhere...

Hugs and sympathies on the bath front. [g] I had to bathe Spirit last night because we have the Ferret Holiday Party today and he was just a little too stinky to go like that. My arms should recover by New Years. :) I don't think it's the... uh... medical reasons you're facing though, so good luck with that. Last summer Magick got herself into something and I had to bathe her, luckily shinymarigold was visiting and able to take some picutres.

Nothing more miserable than a wet ferret.

They're pretty sanguine about the whole experience and I've never come away the worse for the experience - I tend to do them in the bath itself and use the showerhead on them, which is much easier than trying to fill and re-fill the sink with clean water and stops them making a break for it...
