Dear Ministry of Not-So-Magic,

Thanks a bunch for spending the past 4 or 5 years planning new legislation which is about to turn a significant portion of my work completely upside down, and on which I will be expected to be an expert (and be doing training, no less!) when it is finally implemented not so very long from now, and being utterly ineffectual about how you disseminate the few minor pieces of information that we actually need in order to make said legislation work in practice.

Thanks in particular for sitting on the god damned practice direction that is the hub of how everything working in this area with the court system is going to take place and which is absolutely guaranteed to be the thing everyone is going to ask me about. It's ever so much appreciated that in a matter of weeks from now you'll probably have grown men and women whimpering as a result of your impressive lack of organisational skills.

P.S. I remember the last time we had this kind of upheaval for new legislation and, no matter how much I might not want to cross the street to piss on any Tories who were on fire, at least the bloody guidance was out in time!
