...on the incredible unlikeliness of a cosy domestic openly-gay relationship in the 1860's West, where said openly-gay characters live together in a house with the support/encouragement of their associates and the townspeople as a whole and adopt random orphans.

Oh, and did I mention that one of said openly-gay characters was black?

You forgot the winsome and maltreated yet apparently unscarred and incredibly amenable orphans, not to mention the pretend-mpreg storyline of a recent edition...

Ah, well, see, that's a different series. Only six gay there. In the other, all seven are, though the seventh did have to settle and go outside their number for his paramour. Lotta gay men in Four Corners. They need those orphans.
