I suppose it had to happen. Having avoided getting a cold all winter, aided by copious amounts of echinacea, I've now come down with one. Pretty good going, really, considering that the office I work in is usually a hotbed of germs, being too warm in the winter by half, and there's been some real crackers working their way around.

Well, at least this way (I hope) it'll be gone before I get to Montreal (am I really going on holiday in a week and a half? Eeek!) and I might even avoid the post-con lurgy if my immune system is back to its usual level. I hope.

Aww, take care. Spring colds are a pain.

I feel quite a bit better today than I did last night, though I still have the sore throat - if I'd felt like that this morning I wouldn't have gone to work...

Good old echinacea. So far I've managed to avoid the chest infection style thing that is doing the rounds. That's a real nasty that seems to hang around for weeks. Hope you recover quickly.

BTW - sounds like you're heading for Montreal about the same time I'm heading to Atlanta. See you at the airport. *g*

I wasn't convinced before but since I always get at least 3 colds every winter and have survived this long without one (and then maybe only got this one because I stopped taking the stuff for about a month or so) I'm sold.

And I'm flying from Birmingham to Paris first, then to Montreal so perhaps we won't bump into one another? ;)

In that case, hopefully not, since the only bumping we'd be able to do would be in mid-air - definitely not a good thing.

Oh, yucka. Sorry to hear you're ill -- I will join with you in hoping it will all clear up before you depart.

I think there's a reasonable chance of that, but thanks for the well wishes anyway! :)

Thanks, I'm feeling better today after feeling like I'd been run over by a bus last night - now if only I can speed through the sore throat, the sneezing and the runny nose... ;)

Hah! This could be me saying this. I sympathise fully, albeit belatedly. I do hope that you are now fully recovered and that you have a super holiday.

Thanks! :)

Assuming I can shift the cold from its current position in my sinuses, I shall have a super time, I'm sure of it!

Sorry to hear it's still hanging around. Being lodged in your sinuses is in some ways worse that the cold. Have you tried inhaling menthol crystals dissolved in hot water? It's not a permanent solution and certainly makes your nose and eyes run whilst you're doing it, but it can help for an hour or two.

I tend to use Olbas Oil for that, which avoids the whole hot water issue, and it seems to be working. :)

I haven't tried Olbas Oil, thanks for the tip.
