I'm pleased to say that my online supermarket order actually turned up on time this morning, which was a bit of a surprise - the delivery guy said they've taken on 4 new drivers, so that may well help in future, and was muttering comments about how someone has now finally taken charge of the local delivery section... Hopefully I now have enough food in to mean I don't need to venture anywhere near a supermarket till well into 2005.
I got an unexpected addition to my shopping as well, in the form of a pack of frozen chicken livers, so I guess the kids just got their Christmas dinner too! :)
Alas, Amazon recently informed me that my present to myself isn't going to be arriving till well into January, which is a bit vexing, so I went ahead and bought myself Ulead Videostudio instead. ;)
Thanks to the wonders of modern technology, I recently got my hands on some episodes of The Adventures of Brisco County Junior, which I vaguely remember being on endless re-runs on Sky back in the days when I first had cable (so we're talking late 1990's here) but which I never quite got around to watching. Bruce Campbell is excellent in it, I have to say, with quite a little on again-off again threesome going on between his character, Bowler and Socrates. And that's without the joy of watching a scarily-young Anthony Starke (*waves at
cycnus39*) turning up in one of the episodes looking about 18 - yes, there will be screencapping, honest!
Another show to add to the list of 'why exactly did this get cancelled?', when you consider some of the utter dross that makes it into multiple seasons. Sure it's brainless, but it's entertainingly brainless, and sometimes all you need is a little respite from reality...
