What are you if you're a writer and don't write? Is it a permanent state, like being an alcoholic, no matter how long it is since you produced something?
During times like that, your brain and imagination are silently and secretly breeding plot bunnies. Those times when you're not writing, the bunnies are growing and you don't even know it. Then, one day, when you're least expecting it, you'll wake up in the morning and POW! Story idea! You can't get to the keyboard fast enough!
Maybe think of it as a brief vacation from your hobby while your imagination goes out and buys supplies?
