Nov. 6th, 2004 10:47 amYou know, for all the bad things we might say about the post over here (stuff disappearing en route, rising prices), it's not all bad...
The doorbell just rang and it was a recorded delivery letter. "I had to come back this way anyway, and I don't like to ring the doorbell too early," said the postie. Considering that the post came about 7am this morning, it was most appreciated and I made sure I said so. :)

Date: 2004-11-06 05:56 am (UTC)This week our postman shoved a card through the door saying there was excess postage to pay on an item. Hubby was home at the time and said there was no knock at the door or ring of the bell. So, the next day I drive the 12 mile round trip to the sorting office to pay the excess and collect the item. The charge is 14p in unpaid postage, plus £1 handling fee, plus my petrol, plus using up a perfectly good lunch hour to make the trip. You can therefore imagine my reaction at being handed...
...a piece of junk mail!

Date: 2004-11-06 06:06 am (UTC)My current neighbours are a pain in the arse and keep me awake by playing loud music when they come in from clubbing at 4am or having noisy sex that I really don't want to hear... :(
