Hardback or Paperback?
Paperback. Because I'm tight. Unless I'm getting stuff from the library, in which case hardback!

Highlight or Underline?
Nooooooo! *cough* Neither. And I tend to rub out pencil lines in books if I come across them.

Lewis or Tolkien?
What about them? ;) Tolkien, I suppose. Though I have a terrible soft spot for Edmund.

E.B. White or A.A. Milne?
Unequivocably Milne - anyone who creates a character like Tigger just has to be celebrated!

T.S. Eliot or e.e. cummings?
Fish.

Stephen King or Dean Koontz?
Neither, since I don't much like horror.

Barnes & Noble or Borders?
I like Ottakars and Waterstones, but Borders will do in a pinch and I confess I did spend an entire afternoon reading one of the recent Faye Kellerman's in their air conditioned store in Atlanta... ;)

Fantasy or Science Fiction?
Fantasy.

Horror or Suspense?
Meh.

Bookmark or Dogear?
Bookmark. Currently a spectacular Daniel Jackson one, produced by the ever-so-talented hubby of [livejournal.com profile] obelix, aka The Cat's Meow Creative Arts.

Hemingway or Faulkner?
Fish.

Fitzgerald or Steinbeck?
Steinbeck.

Homer or Plato?
Homer.

Geoffrey Chaucer or Edmund Spenser?
Neither.

Pen or Pencil?
Pen.

Looseleaf or Notepad?
Whatever comes to hand first.

Alphabetize: By Author or By Title?
Alphabetize? Whaaaaa...?

Dustjacket: On or Off?
On.

Novella or Epic?
Epic.

John Grisham or Scott Turow?
Ian Rankin, please! :)

J.K. Rowling or Lemony Snicket?
It must be JKR.

John Irving or John Updike?
John Irving. I loved 'A Son of the Circus'.

Fiction or Non-fiction?
More likely to be fiction, but I've also read a bucketload of non-fiction, depending on the subject...

Historical Biography or Historical Romance?
Biography, but again dependent on the subject.

A Few Pages per Sitting or Finish at Least a Chapter?
Chapters are there for a reason... ;)

Short Story or Creative Non-fiction Essay?
?

"It was a dark and stormy night" or "Once upon a time"?
Either will do, assuming the rest isn't too cliched.

Buy or Borrow?
Both! I like to get my money from the council tax. ;)

Book Reviews or Word of Mouth?
Both. I'm easily persuaded by people whose tastes are close to my own.

Ian Rankin, please!

Yes, he's better than either of those two.

Good meme, but I'm not doing it because I'd have to advertise my appalling ignorance (haven't read half those authors).

Why the devil would anyone want to underline or highlight a book? Except if they were studying literature. Philistines. Should be shot!!
