Ferrets are not rodents. They don't chew incesantly. They don't have teeth that need to be maintained in that way.
They dig - but plastic carpet runners can help with that. They hide things. It'll probably be in one piece when you find it, but that's only if you find it. But in general, they don't chew things to death. :)
