Having seen season 2 of Invisible Man, courtesy of daily re-runs on the Sci Fi channel here, I now understand why it was cancelled... Hello Agent MarySue, goodbye ratings!

According to one of the show's websites, Veritas: The Quest stands a chance of being resuscitated because of the excellent ratings it got when shown over here. That's good news, if only for my enjoyment of the character of Vincent, played by Arnold Vosloo. He's the star of the show to my mind, far eclipsing the whiny token teenager, MarySue science girl and whiny token teenager's dad.

Meanwhile, over on CSI, controversy rages on regarding the sacking of Jorja Fox and George Eads. I was never keen on the character of Sara, finding her a bit smug and annoying - Nick, on the other hand, was attractive in a dumb kind of way. Some might say it doesn't matter much anyway since the freakish crimes are the real stars of the show - certainly there's been little development for any of the characters, from what I've seen in the (wildly-out-of-sequence) episodes I've been watching.

Was this CBS taking a stand against greed and saving television as we know it (as they claim) or merely two people with a short shelf-life (as many actors have, particularly women, and especially in the current climate of reality shows) attempting to make the most of an opportunity presented to them?

And in closing, I wish E4 would hurry up and show season 3 of Six Feet Under and was pleased to see that FX is planning to show Carnivale in September. :)

Oh yeah, have seen a few eps with the irritating chick on IM, and I'm ready to turn the show off. When I first saw IM, it was a great buddy show. And now... it's not. The blokes were both worried about the "girl" and were constantly trying to protect her last night. Bah. Pointless twaddle.

And oh... no more Nicky boy? He was a cutie, and he was a modern man who cried when faced with a lunatic with a gun about to kill him, which was oddly nice to see.

And finally - Veritas. Loved it. Loved the cartoon-feel of the archaeology, the fast pace, and the duh-duh-daaaahhh! type of melodrama. Vincent - yum. I prefer whiny teen to whiny teen's dad. Not interested in the other characters.

The theory was that tptb were scared of the idea of subtext so they wanted more women in a desperate attempt to separate Hobbes and Fawkes...

Yeah, I'd say he was one of the better and more rounded characters on the show, not that this was tricky. I like Greg as well. :)

More on this: "I didn't quit, I overslept!" says George Eads... (http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=494&ncid=763&e=1&u=/ap/20040721/ap_en_tv/tv_csi_eads).
