Thanks to everyone for their congrats on the job offer - I've had a chat with my would-be boss and she was all "you're just what I was looking for!", which is always nice to hear. Unlike my current employers (it took 3 months to get from interview to formal job offer), their HR department seem to be on the ball. I've already received the paperwork for both the medical approval and payroll.

In other news, I decided a while back that I wanted to do a proper run-through of a number of the boxsets I've purchased and haven't got around to. So I finished off season 2 of Man from UNCLE, which I got halfway through a while back and then I've been watching 2 episodes a day of Wild Wild West and finished season 1 today, both for fic research purposes and to ogle Jim West's arse and give it the respect it deserves. ;)

Next up is season 1 of I Spy which someone (*smooches obelix*) kindly bought me but I've only seen a couple of episodes so far...

Finally, Torchwood. My response to it can be summed up as follows: Rocks fall, everyone dies. Except, of course, the characters who can't and those you really want to.

Actually, Gwen was a bit less annoying in this than she had been in the previous season, but killing off Ianto? So not on. And where was Harriet Jones when you needed her?

Now back to cleaning up the pit of weasels that is my house... not to mention the house of the weasels themselves! :P

Well done on the new job - that's always a good thing, but an excellent thing in this kind of market. Congrats!

Also, boxsets are becoming a more frequent way for me to watch series these days. No ads, no fast forwarding, no waiting, just find series that I haven't seen (or haven't seen for a while) and working my way through them. I much prefer that to watching films these days.

It's much easier to get a job when you've already got one because there's much less pressure, not to mention that certain jobs (and sectors) are much easier to get employment in than others...

Meanwhile, yes boxsets are love. However, 144-episode series are hard to get through without some self-discipline, hence the 2-eps-a-day rule at the moment with certain shows!

Yes, job offer = cool, though I'm excited/anxious/oh god what am I doing? about it all. Still, 13 miles to work seems like a godsend at the moment. 3 months notice, though, so the earliest I'll be at the new place is likely to be late October, I reckon.

Also, right there with you on RTD. If only he was as good as he thinks he is!

I went through the West Wing, Voyager, The 4400 and now Supernatural pretty quickly. I didn't plan on a couple of episodes a night, but I did tend to watch an episode in bed each night, plus put the DVDs on when doing the ironing or sorting. I love being in the middle of a good series, and then get slower at watching near the end as I want to drag it out *g*
