'It', in this case, being my new all-singing, all-dancing computer.

Of course, as is the way of things, my antediluvian laptop refuses to accept direct cable connection with the shiny new usurper, so I've been reduced to transferring oodles of stuff over via floppy disk. Funny how only having 3Gb of hard disk really focusses the mind on what you want to hang onto...

Anyway, the new toy can do more than one thing at a time without taking an eternity to consider whether it wants to, and is mine all mine! ;)

200Gb hard drive and 1Gb of RAM, for those that need to know that sort of thing...

congrats!!!! I remember the feeling when new computer arrived... ohhh it can do more than one think a time, ohhhh look at that, even can do 3 things at same time.... and the best it doesn't take an eternity to copy things and do things....

1 gb or RAM!!! oh my god I only have 500 and my computer it's really fast---

Now I'm fancing a little wireless mouse, there are too many cable on my desk.

*grins*

Yep, I have a wireless mouse now, it's very nifty (well, once it's charged up it is, anyway).

The novelty will take a while to wear off, I'm sure! :)

"Direct cable"? Is that anything like cross cables?

Ethernet. It's where it's at.

That would be where you plug one end of a cable in the laptop and one end in the PC and try to make them communicate.

My laptop is ancient, ethernet is just an eight letter word... ;)

Oh, please. I used to have ethernet on my 486dx4 100 running Windows 3.1 at my job in Texas. Ethernet is OLD. ;)

OTOH, is your laptop too elderly for PC card slots?

I'm still wallowing in the novelty of clicking on things and it happens. Immediately. :)
