graculusIt's not quite what I was looking for, given that I'm currently on more money than the top whack of the payscale, but there's a couple of jobs going that are about 15 miles from where I live (and given that I'm currently paying out for the commute, it probably doesn't work out too different...). What I really want is the next job up, but the only ones going are further away than I care to put up with, so I'm going for these two in the hope that an appropriate vacancy might crop up sometime soon(ish), once I've got my feet under the table somewhat.
Frankly, if they don't at least interview me, I shall be shocked, since it sounds as though I could do the job standing on my head. Closing date is 12th October so I have time to break the news to my boss that I'm applying for something. Still, they have had me for over 3 years, so it's not like I've only just arrived and I have to give 3 month's notice anyway, if I do get offered the job.
That would, of course, be the ultimate irony - spend months campaigning for an office of my own, finally get it and then move! ;)
