Major downside of living on your own if you wake up feeling unwell at some ungodly hour - staying awake till the office opens so you can phone in sick because nobody else is there to do it for you when all you want to do is crawl into bed and pull the covers over your head. :(

Oh, I know what you mean. I need to teach the cats how to phone the office.

Many hugs, hon. Take care of yourself and stay in bed as much as possible.

Ah, you poor thing, being unwell sucks. Mind you, phoning in sick sucks too. I was made to feel like I'd committed murder, not one 'hope you feel better soon', gits!

Anyway, hope you feel better soon.

Commiserations. I found a solution to that and if I feel so deathly that I want to forget about needing to call in at 9am, I send an email to a select number of colleagues, with delivery and read receipts requested. Then I figure that if the office systems go down and they don't get the email, I did my duty, and they can call ME to ask why I'm not there.

I once emailed in sick at 5:30am.

Alternative is a text message. Heck, they get used for dumping people - why not for calling in sick?
