Oh, Russell can't you give us a freaking break? *sigh*

Have to say, during this year's ep I was also mostly thinking a combination of 'wow, David Tennant is really freckly', 'I'm so glad Catherine Tate said 'no' to a permanent part' and 'yikes, the actress playing the spider empress is probably still picking bits of the scenery out of her teeth'.

But mostly the Rose-worship was getting old months ago, so could RTD please give it up sometime soon and stop bashing us over the head with the shippy sledgehammer of doom in every piece of dialogue that comes out of the Doctor's mouth. That is all.

Also, Daleks in the new season! Squeeee! ;)

I think the ep suffered a little by having the gap from the 'trauma' of the loss of Rose. It lost the emotional impact of being set in time directly after the meeting on the beach by us having to wait months for it.

I'm glad Catherine Tate said no but at the same time was pleasantly surprised by how well she did in it.

I know there was a point where I said 'stop dropping anvils' but I can't remember what it was!

I've been rewatching some of the eps with Nine on BBC America, and while there's quite a bit of comments from outsiders about he and Rose being a "couple" and the like, it wasn't as overtly shippy as it became with Ten.

The season two finale was just... so overdone with it. Dunno, maybe TPTB didn't think Nine was "pretty" enough to be a ship object?

I rather liked bits of it - but totally agree with the Rose worship thing. *g*

And yes - I too squee'd at the Darleks in the next season.
