I'm in love with Numb3rs all over again and for the same reasons you stated. The ending focused on the 3 Eppes men and it felt just right. I love all the characters except for one but I can live with her appearances, as long as we keep getting what we got in the last 2 episodes.
As for Boston Legal is there anything not to love about it? As long as I get my Alan, Denny and Shirley fix I can deal with some new characters since as you said who knows how long they'll be around :-)
