30 Days - day 23
Jul. 23rd, 2011 07:51 pm23 - When you post, where do you post to? Just your journal? Just an archive? Your own personal site?
Usually my own journal and/or communities if it's a challenge thing or I'm particularly involved with that community.
In terms of the interwebs it's here, there and everywhere, it seems... different fandoms have had slightly different approaches. When I first started with SG-1, I had my own website from fairly early on iirc and also posted on Area 52 or Stargatefan depending on whether we were talking slash or gen. In UNCLE, for a long time the only 'main archive' was File 40 and I posted some stuff there but not everything - likewise I've posted a few to the Chrome and Gun-Metal Madhouse but not everything.
Mag7 as a fandom has an odd perspective on archives - the main slash archive is heavily (and I mean heavily) hidden away to the point of being moved if anyone publicly posts the URL and also has a thing about stuff only being posted there if it's just posted there. I have a few links from it but didn't really like someone else having that much control over my fic. I also posted on M7slash but that seems to have died a death as an archive.
I also resisted AO3 for a long time, because I am someone who cannot be told. ;)
