graculus moves office' saga, but still it continues... Whatever we do, we cannot seem to get the computer folks to come and move a computer from one room in the building to another so I can actually, oh I don't know, work there! We put a work request in weeks ago and I'm told this was the recent response:
Admin Lady: We booked a computer move two weeks ago, what's happening?
Dopey Computer Guy: Hasn't that been done yet?
AL: *headdesk* If it had, would I be phoning you?
So I currently have a desk, an office, a phone and a pigeonhole but no computer. My attempts at moving my boxes-of-crap this week mostly went like this: move box-of-crap, get dragged into discussion at new office, empty box-of-crap, get dragged into another discussion, go back to old office, spend 3 hours sorting something else out, move another box-of-crap, rinse and repeat. I was planning to move offices on Monday and ended up finally (bar computer) being moved in around Friday lunchtime.
In other work-related news, I finally caught up with A (though I'd seen her earlier in the week but just hadn't properly spoken with her) and the conversation about her shenanigans went like this:
G: Tell me about [the stuff you were panicking about].
A: Do I need to apologise? I understand I pissed you off.
G: Well, I could have done without you copying your emails to everyone and their dog.
A: Nothing was getting done!
G: It was, but I don't think you were helping. Anyway, I'm not pissed off at you, I just asked your boss to ask you to calm the hell down.
A: But that's just my normal behaviour.
Quite a positive discussion really, considering I thought she was giving me the cold shoulder earlier in the week and I'd basically told everyone her panic threshold was way too low, and told her that I felt she had caused half the problem in the first place... ;)
