(no subject)

Dragged myself into work for an 8.30am meeting this morning (and let me say I have never been a morning person) and was then distinctly underwhelmed when the two managers I was meeting with - respectively two and three layers above me in the greater scheme of things - kept me waiting for half an hour before they got around to sitting down with me. Hmmmph.

Anyway, it seems that reorganisation or not, my job is still there - the issue is apparently exactly which pot or pots the money for my post is coming out of since technically we're about to split the potential group of workers I could be working with into two separate lots. This complicates matters when it comes to funding my post, but they don't anticipate major problems. Okay then.

In addition to this, many nice things were said about both the usefulness of my role (which is good because I'm the first person ever in this job) and my own part in making the post a success. And none of the admin nazi's whining about my not being an obedient little pleb was mentioned. Woohoo!

I have also managed to get agreement that I can move offices again, so I will be escaping the clutches of the admin nazi early next week, though I don't know if she knows that yet. Still no sign of a permanent office, but I can tolerate that if I can just get out from under surveillance. ;)
