Jan. 3rd, 2007 09:19 pmI'm not a lawyer, nor do I play one on tv, but I do have a lovely job for local government that requires me to keep up with legislation and so it cheered my sad and geeky heart yesterday to discover the newly-opened Statute Law Database. Basically, for sad people like me who're interested in that sort of thing, it's an archive of primary and secondary legislation for the entire UK (as enacted by the English, Scottish, Northern Irish and Irish Parliaments/Assemblies of various periods).
Which basically means pretty much all the law you might ever need, dating back from 1267 to the present day - that means if you ever need to know about A Statute forbidding Bearing of Armour (1313), which bans people from coming armed to the Houses of Parliament, or indeed the Prevention of Damage by Rabbits Act 1939, this is the place to go! ;)
