(no subject)

Despite the cold and getting less than 3 hours sleep last night (I was restless all night... meh) I was back at work today, only to discover that all sorts of things have been going on while I was away.

I knew that one of the managers was leaving, since apparently she's going to live in the Outer Hebrides and be a novellist, but what I didn't know was what she'd been up to just before she left for good. Apparently she was more batshit crazy than I'd given her credit for, though I'd heard rumours about her even soon after I started work. Anyway, what she did was write a letter and send copies of it to every manager going, and the relevant council member, slagging off all her former colleagues, then conveniently 'forgot' a copy of it which she left lying around the office. I haven't seen it yet, but I know it's doing the rounds (so I expect I'll see it at some point) and one of the managers involved (one with whom this manager couldn't even bear to share a building) gave me the gist of it. Jeez.

Oh, and my planned move to office A, which happened today, may be a somewhat longer move with my time spread between office A (where I am now) and office B (where batshit crazy lady was a manager, which is apparently in a bad way). I'm not overly happy about people messing with my plans but would cope with a timeshare arrangement for a while. I've already told one senior manager that I have no intention of being a surrogate manager for them and that if I wanted that, I would have taken the job they offered me a couple of months ago. So, we'll see what happens...
