Happy Birthday, [livejournal.com profile] katyabaturinsky! :)

A while back, I posted here about my employer's impending change to a computerised expenses system, which had all the hallmarks of local government efficiency: set up a pilot group, find out there are problems but still bring the new process in before the pilot group has reported...

So, we've all been going on training to learn to use the system. The guy who is running the training, from the company which runs the computerised system, makes a big deal in the training about not clicking a particular button (to request a new password) until some time in the future when you might need it, after you've logged in with the password you've been given and changed the default email address to your own. Because if you click it before then, the new password gets sent to the default email address, which happens to belong to the guy running the training whose office is in London. We are not in London.

Anyway, last week I did all my backdated mileage claims, so I was right up to date. And they sat waiting to be approved. And kept waiting. A week passed, so when I happened to be in the same office as the manager who has to approve my claims, I asked her what was going on. No prizes for guessing what she had done... *headdesk*

No new password for her until the end of the month, and therefore no mileage money till early next month (and that's assuming everyone and their dog hasn't got claims in there as well).
