Oh, please...
Feb. 22nd, 2006 06:31 pmYesterday afternoon I got an email from S. (one of the area managers) asking if I could attend a meeting on Thursday morning, about something regarding particular questions I don't know the answer to, as the person who should be attending (considering that this meeting was planned well in advance) has buggered off on holiday and made no arrangements for it to be covered.
So, this afternoon I phone S. and leave a message for her, saying that if she wants me to go I need to know what's going on, otherwise I'll be no use there. I say I will be in the office till 5pm but considering the managers are all in a meeting, I also (reluctantly) leave my mobile number so they can phone me after that if they need to.
I do not turn my phone on till about 15 minutes ago when I got home, at which time I discover I have a voicemail from R. (S's lackey, and I mean that in all senses of the word...) at 4.15pm, asking me to phone S. Of course now I can't talk to S. till tomorrow morning, so I've now got to stop off at S's office on the way to the meeting and find out whether or not she is there to tell me what I need to know, otherwise there is no point me going to the meeting.
