Sunday meandering
Feb. 5th, 2006 11:10 amYes, it's the weekend again. Alas, it's also Sunday, which means that the weekend is more than half over and it's back to work tomorrow, but I'm choosing not to give that too much weight at present. Particularly since I'm working next week and then I have a whole week off. :)
Unfortunately, during that week, I have quite a lot to do. I need to make some significant progress on my dissertation in the near future, though the actual talking-to-people bit that I will need to do is looking like it's pretty much organised. However, I put my literature search 'somewhere safe' (you know, somewhere so 'safe' I can't find it? *sigh*) and if I can't lay my hands on it soon then I'm going to have to do the whole bloody thing all over again. Fortunately my chosen subject isn't huge, but it's still an annoyance.
In addition, I have deadlines to meet. At least I've started on my
picfor1000 story now, so that's something. And the Stargate SG-1 story is partly-written, I just need to figure out how to reconcile our protagonists and tie all the ends together. I would very much like to actually get a Wild Wild West story done for this year's edition of Gentlemen Never Tell. I have some ideas, it's the actual sitting down and putting them into some kind of coherent form that I lack...
Meanwhile, in the real world, out of the window I can see my neighbour trying to put together one of those self-assembly sheds - he is not giving me much confidence in his ability to do this without losing digits. I should probably explain that my computer is upstairs in the smallest bedroom known to humanity, which gives me a nice view into the gardens both sides of mine, particularly this time of year when the trees have no leaves. I'm also watching two of their cats chase one another up and down my lawn - they're not too much of an annoyance, as they seem to poo in their own garden. ;)
