Apparently, my hometown is the cradle of Northern European civilisation - who knew? ;)

Meanwhile, in other news, I've found myself getting involved with a working group that is now going to be suggesting to senior management just how we might reorganise a significant chunk of the department to avoid getting prosecuted for breaking a law that's due to come into force shortly. However, my working group has already lost one member through her taking time off and another might be off sick, so that brings us down to three, which isn't quite as influential as it might have been.

Finished American Gods on the drive home tonight, so tomorrow it's The Wizard of Earthsea as I head to what is thankfully the last of this year's training sessions. We're running it again in January/February, but in nothing like as concentrated a dose and I've tried to actively avoid morning sessions, which suck hugely. It always seems like no matter what time I leave home, it always takes at least ten minutes longer to get to work than it ought to...
