Name five fannish characters you would trade lives with.
I think this one's quite tricky, with most of my immediate responses going 'him, but with less torture' or 'her, but with less angst and not in that time period'. So, perhaps not as easy as it might initially appear...
1. The Director (Once A Thief) - gets to torment and spy on hot guys, and apart from that embarrassing tap-dancing episode (across which we shall draw a veil) is both cool and hot. ;)
2. Ezra Standish (Magnificent 7) - I wouldn't mind being Ezra too much. He's clever, well-read and has a steady income. He also has a nice line in clothes and stands much less chance of getting shot than the rest of the folks he hangs out with.
3. Chrestomanci (novels by Diana Wynne Jones) - I'd love to have magic, and at least when Christopher Chant loses his lives, he doesn't seem to suffer all that much beforehand. And pfft to anyone who says this isn't fannish enough...
4. Ray Kowalski (Due South) - I already have the bad eyesight and I could manage the spiky hair. And I like Polish food.
5. Nero Wolfe (novels by Rex Stout) - a gourmet chef, a house full of books and orchids, Archie Goodwin to do my bidding. What more could a girl want? ;)
