Gah. I hate it when people make sweeping statements about stuff they clearly have no frelling idea about.

So, HP fandom is 'mostly chan' is it? Even when there are people writing shedloads of gen? When there are more teenagers than you could shake a stick at shipping Ron and/or Harry with Hermione and/or Ginny with gleeful abandon? Or when the denialists are still writing Remus/Sirius? Or the Snape-fanciers are slashing him with every adult male character known to the fandom and some original ones besides?

It's a good thing I had no respect for the person making this idiotic pronouncement previously, due to their antics in fandom, because I have absolutely none now. It's clear what their only interest in fandom is... and it ain't creativity!

Yikes!

Two weeks to go in my current job and the nerves are setting in - not about getting everything done and dusted before I go, for that is something that must be done (as far as humanly possible) no matter what.

No, in this case the nerves are about my leaving do. I've insisted we at least start out at a good Mexican restaurant of my acquaintance but people at work have now started making comments that make me a little nervous. "How are you getting there?" they ask. "We'll make sure you get home," they say.

Unfortunately, I think there are plans afoot to get me absolutely bladdered, because somehow I've never made an utter twat of myself in public with these people in almost seven years, mostly by knowing when to stop. And if it's my leaving do, I know people are going to be plying me with alcohol all night.

Which would be fine except that I've just had a glass of wine with my dinner and I can feel it already. ;) Oh buggery bollocks.
