May. 7th, 2005 08:04 pmI was going to do that WIP meme that's going around, the one where you put the first line or paragraph of WIPs you currently have but when it headed comfortably into double figures I decided that discretion was the better part of valour. ;)
And there I was thinking I'd made some headway. After all, some of the stories I've finished over the past 12 months or so have been lurking around in various guises for a couple of years now - Journey's End, the AU Stargate SG-1 novella that times out after this MediaWest, was a good two years in the writing. I have another story, a season 5 rewrite called Momentum that's a similar age and still unfinished because I don't have an ending for it yet.
I'd love to do a metaphorical clearing of the decks, finish all the half-written stories I have without starting anything new, but I can't see it happening somehow. Maybe I'm worried that if I get all those done that'll be it? Or maybe it's just that the ideas keep coming, the scenes and dialogue exchanges keep popping into my brain until it's the literary equivalent of painting the Forth Bridge?
