There's one in every workplace...

You know him. He's omnipresent, except when you need him to do something. He's the shirker, the guy who always finds excuses for why he can't do whatever it is you want him to do and hey it's lunchtime so he has to go now...

But good news! Our resident shirker (known to all and sundry, even our boss, as Slippery Dave) has got another job and will be leaving us in a couple of weeks!

The most amusing thing was that he was talking about his new job with someone when I was in the room and he kept casting little looks at me as if expecting me to comment. Probably because I've slapped him down more than once for messing me about when he's supposed to be doing something for me. But I was good, deciding that blanking him would be much more disconcerting for him. ;)

Now if only we can replace him with people who've got a more similar approach to the work as our other incumbents, we'll be fine.
