When I saw the first one, it was cute. I remember coming across a description from someone (sorry, I peruse so many people's stuff I can't quite remember who it was who said it first) about how it was a little like being in Hogwarts, with the moving pictures on the walls and all.
After a while, though, the damn things began to vex me.
Why? Well, for starters most of them move too damn fast. So fast, in fact, that they make me nauseous. Kind of like walking through Hogwarts with a bad hangover, wishing you were still in bed, I guess.
A tip for people doing animated gif lj icons - don't make them change so fast that a) the pics are subliminal, and b) it's impossible to read whatever words you've included. It can be done, honest.
But not by me. *shudder*
