Oh, I think you're being kind. I disliked a great many of the stories posted. With one or two exceptions, I found myself pretty much exclusively reccing the same authors I recced during the golden age of TS fandom. Most (though not all) of the stuff by the newer authors was just dreadful, IMO. But the dozen or so stories that I did like reminded me of how good that fandom could be, back in the day.
But you're still at the hoovering-it-all-down stage in that fandom, though.
I've actually gone a bit beyond that, which is part of the problem. As the fandom has become more popular, the amount of crap fic being posted has risen exponentially; I have a whole cadre of authors (which I've dubbed The Idiot Brigade, in my usual kind and generous fashion) that I won't touch with a ten-foot pole, and more are added to that list each day, sadly. So while there's tons being produced, I'll only read about 1/2 of it, as I run screaming from the other half. Thus my willingness to take a chance on these three zines, simply because they were the only ones I'd seen in the New Shiny. Unfortunately, two of them fell firmly into the Idiot Brigade camp, and the other one -- the collection of fic already posted online -- made no improvement on what I'd already read on the net. So I'm 0 for 3 on the zine front, which will just make me more leery of zines in that fandom in the future, of course. Meanwhile, some of the fic posted online has been better than much of the pro novels I've read; and I've enjoyed that fic for free, with feedback being my only thanks to the author.
I think I've been hanging out on Zinelist too long.
Well, I've been enjoying the feeding frenzy, personally. ;)
