Somewhere out there, in SG fandom, is someone with a computer that is happily sending out infected emails.

How do I know that? Well, the fact that the spoof addresses they purport to come from include the admin addresses of various SG lists and the email address of the lovely Yum@ of Stargatefan, not to mention the email addresses of a number of writers of both slash and gen.

Why oh why oh why don't people have firewalls and antivirus software (and keep them updated)? :P

Could it be our Darkside friend, perhaps?

Since there's no intelligence required in order to get your PC infected, I wouldn't rule it out completely... ;)

I got one of those recently from Morjana. We've never corresponded.

Whoof. Did you alert Yuma to the issue?

Nope, because the way spoofed addresses work is that the virus goes through the person's mail address book and email addresses on any website pages in the cache, then uses those addresses to pretend the mail has come from them. That's how I know it's someone in the fandom... ;)

Ahhh, I didn't realize it was spoofing. Some of the bugs get in your computer and make you send out stupid stuff. I was afraid that had happened to Yuma.
